Space shuttle launch at 6:20 p.m. on March 8, 2001. A crowd of NASA fans like this one sees one of these manned launches about six times a year. And seven or eight other Titan and unmanned launches. They are always a breathtaking and amazing thing to see. Cape Canaveral is about 40 miles south of New Smyrna Beach.
